Marketing Associate
Under the direction of the Chief Communications and Strategy Officer, the Marketing Associate role focuses on developing and executing marketing strategies for San Diego Comic Convention and the Comic-Con Museum. This position involves collaboration with key stakeholders in all areas of the organization. A person in this role must cultivate and maintain effective communication and relationships across various internal departments and with external clients. The Marketing Associate is responsible for creating and designing all marketing materials, which include presentations, social media content, advertising, and website updates. This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can multitask effectively while simultaneously managing several projects and changes.

- Strategically develop and implement engaging marketing campaigns, advertising conventions, museums, and educational purposes, targeting consumers and industry stakeholders.
- Work in partnership with Park and City organizations to develop marketing campaigns.
- Develop retail marketing strategies, working closely with internal teams to optimize SDCC’s visibility and print availability on digital platforms.
- Partner with the Chief Communications and Strategy Officer to oversee the creation of all marketing and advertising materials, managing the process from copywriting through design and production.
- Regularly update key internal teams and external stakeholders on project and campaign progress.
- Work alongside the SDCC stakeholders to develop and design innovative materials that enhance a range of marketing campaigns, advertising efforts, merchandising plans, printed materials, and digital content for online platforms, websites, emails, and social media.
- Collaborate across all administrative areas to understand marketing and communication needs and suggest strategies for executing marketing plans.
- Provided support for photography and video projects as needed.
- Provides support to Departments as needed with marketing needs.
- Source and network for marketing opportunities for the entire organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
资格
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communication, marketing, or related field (Preferred but not required)
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create compelling marketing narratives.
- A creative mindset with a passion for storytelling.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years progressively responsible experience in marketing and communications and familiarity with graphic design.
- Proven track record as a senior marketer, preferably focusing on entertainment, pop culture, education, or similar fast-paced industry.
- Experience with working marketing conventions or events.
- Strong expertise in digital marketing channels, social media platforms, and community engagement strategies.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting data and optimizing marketing strategies.
- Knowledge and experience in developing marketing materials that support various events and campaigns.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Mac OS, and MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Must be familiar with popular arts and culture, as well as education, and must have the ability to promote the organization’s mission, goals, and values.
